Welcome to the Haymarket Hotel.  A family run hotel with a warm Scottish welcome.  We pride ourselves on our friendly service and high standards. The Haymarket Hotel is spread over six historic Victorian town houses, built in the middle of the 19th century as part of the new town, situated along a traditional cobbled street in the historic west end of Edinburgh. The hotel offers a fabulous central location, yet is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. It’s a short 10-minute walk to the city centre and its major attractions, a stone’s throw from Haymarket train station, and with easy access to the airport. The hotel offers 70 comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms, whilst retaining the charm and character of the Victorian style.  Guests can also enjoy a delicious Scottish breakfast, morning coffee or a leisurely drink in our Logan’s Bar, open throughout the day.

Booking online with The Haymarket Hotel is quick, easy, and completely secure. Types of Rates:

Best Available Rate: When you book our best available rate, Haymarket Hotel will ask you for a credit/debit card number to secure your reservation only. No payment will be taken from your card and you will pay for your room on arrival at the hotel. All guests must present a payment card on arrival in their name.

Cancelling your room - you can cancel your booking up to 11pm three days prior to the day of arrival without penalty. If you fail to arrive or cancel your reservation after 11pm three days prior to the day of arrival, you will be charged the total amount for your accommodation.

Advanced Purchase Rate: When you book an advance purchase rate, Haymarket Hotel will take full prepayment from your debit/credit card at the time of booking. The advanced purchase rate is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to an alternative date or name.

Promotional Offers: When you book a promotional offer, including seasonal promotions, you will be asked for full pre-payment unless stated otherwise.  All promotional packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. We reserve the right to withdraw any offer at any such time.

No shows: are charged in full.

Over booking: In the event the hotel is over-booked the hotel reserves the right to out book rooms, the nearest suitable accommodation will be offered as an alternative. 

Group Bookings:

Bookings of six or more rooms are subject to our group booking terms and conditions.

At time of booking a 10% deposit of the total cost per room is required to secure the booking. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

All rooms must be paid in full 14 days prior to arrival with a full rooming list supplied at this time.

No shows will be charged in full.

Any additional costs occurred during stay must be paid in full on departure.

Payment

All legal disputes related to card processing are handled under UK Law.

Travel Insurance

We advise our guests to take out travel insurance against unforeseen cancellations. 

Check in and Check out Policy

Our check in time is from 3pm on the day of arrival.  We kindly ask that you vacate your room by 11am on the day of your departure.

Early arrival and/or late check-out is available upon request, please get in touch and we’ll notify you of any additional charges.

Child Policy

Haymarket Hotel welcomes families and smaller guests will all receive a free children’s activity pack when they arrive at the hotel. 

Upgrade charges will apply if you need a larger bedroom to accommodate your family. Rates are as featured online if  you click on the desired number of people in the room.

Children under 5 can stay free of charge in a room when staying in existing beds.

Cots are provided free of charge, however are subject to availability.  Please get in touch to check availability.

Breakfast is charged as taken for children.

Dog Policy

The hotel allows dogs in dedicated rooms for an additional fee of £20 per well behaved dog. Pets in the room must be advised in advance of arrival so please contact us for further information. Guide dogs are allowed in all areas of the hotel. Dogs are allowed in our public areas including Logan’s bar and breakfast room, except for during breakfast service hours between 7am to 10am. Dogs must be supervised and controlled at all times in both public areas and in guest rooms. With courtesy to other guests staying with us, there is unfortunately no provision to leave dogs unattended in hotel bedrooms for any length of time.

Smoking

The hotel has a total no smoking policy under the as per the 2005 Smoking Act. Any guests found to have been smoking in rooms will be charged a £50 cleaning fee.

General

We request that you take good care of our hotel during your stay. You will be responsible for the full cost of damages or breakages and any exceptional cleaning. Items taken from the rooms will be charged at replacement value and any damage to the rooms will be charged accordingly.

Alcohol

No alcohol is to be consumed in the public areas of the hotel unless purchased from the hotel. If a guest is found to do so, a corkage charge of £1.50 per bottle of beer and £5.00 per bottle of wine will be imposed.

Account Holders

Account requests must be approved in advance with credit approval. If credit is provided, rooms will be invoiced upon the departure of guests and payment will be due 14 days from the date of invoice. Any late payments will be subject to an additional charge. This will be charged per month or part of month on all late payments.

How To Find Us

By Rail:

We are a short 2 minute walk from Haymarket Station.

From Edinburgh Airport:

You can take the Airlink 100 bus, tram or taxi – each option will take around 20 minutes to reach the hotel. If you are

raking the bus or tram your stop will be the Haymarket Station, from here it is a 2 minute walk to the hotel. Taxis are

readily available outside the Airport terminal.

By Road:

From the North, head South down the M90, continue onto A90 towards Edinburgh, follow Queensferry Terrace, Glencairn Crescent, and then onto Coates Gardens.

From the South, head North on the A1, exit the A1 onto the A720 City Bypass for Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling.  Turn right at Gogar roundabout and follow Corstorphine Road, then turn left onto Coates Gardens.
